Custom Kitchen Millwork Built to Last
Most contractors source stock cabinets and call it custom. We build and install millwork in-house, which means the cabinets in your kitchen are designed for your specific dimensions, your storage needs, and your finishes, not pulled from a catalog and trimmed to fit.
Our custom kitchen millwork includes face-frame and frameless cabinet construction, drawer box joinery, soft-close hardware, custom door profiles, and finish options in paint-grade, stain-grade, and natural wood. Crown molding integration is standard on full kitchen builds. The same millwork shop that builds your kitchen cabinets also serves bathroom vanities, built-ins, and commercial casework, so the quality is consistent across every project we take on.

The Kitchen Remodel Process From Start to Finish
A kitchen remodel has a defined sequence, and knowing what each phase covers makes the whole project predictable. We manage every phase in-house so nothing falls between the cracks, from the first site visit through the final punch list.
Step 1.
Design Consultation and Scope Review
We meet on-site to walk the existing kitchen, understand what stays and what goes, and document dimensions and structural constraints. The result is a clear scope of work before any money changes hands.
Step 2.
Material Selection and Scheduling
Cabinet profiles, countertop materials, fixtures, hardware, and tile are selected before demo begins. Locking in materials early prevents mid-project delays and ensures the finished kitchen matches the original plan.
Step 3.
Demolition and Rough Work
Existing cabinets, countertops, flooring, and fixtures come out. Rough plumbing and electrical are roughed in to the new layout. All rough work is inspected and confirmed before any finished surfaces go in.
Step 4.
Custom Cabinet Fabrication and Installation
Cabinets built to the kitchen's exact dimensions are delivered and installed. Upper and lower cabinets are set level, secured, and fitted with doors and hardware before countertop templating begins.
Step 5.
Countertops, Fixtures, and Finish Work
Countertops are templated, fabricated, and set. Plumbing fixtures, sink, faucet, backsplash tile, and appliances follow in sequence. Interior paint, trim, and any remaining finish work close out the space.
Step 6.
Final Walkthrough and Cleanup
Every cabinet, drawer, fixture, and surface is inspected before the crew leaves. The kitchen is cleaned, any punch-list items are resolved, and the project is handed over complete.
Kitchen Remodeling Questions Answered
How Long Does a Full Kitchen Remodel Take?
A full kitchen remodel with us typically runs 6 to 10 weeks, depending on scope, cabinet lead times, and countertop fabrication. Custom cabinets add lead time but eliminate fit issues. Projects with in-stock materials and straightforward layouts move faster. A firm timeline is set during the initial scope review.
How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost?
Kitchen remodel costs vary based on size, material choices, and whether the layout changes. A full remodel with custom cabinets, new countertops, and finish work typically falls in the mid-to-upper range for residential renovations. We provide a detailed written estimate at no charge before any work begins.
Can West Coast Construction Build Custom Cabinets for My Kitchen?
Yes, we build and install custom kitchen cabinets in-house. Cabinets are designed to the kitchen's exact dimensions with your choice of door profile, finish, and hardware. This is distinct from ordering prefab cabinets from a supplier and having them installed on-site.
Will I Be Able to Use My Kitchen During the Remodel?
Full kitchen remodels involve demo and rough work phases where the kitchen is not functional. We sequence work to minimize total downtime and communicate clearly about which days access will be most limited. Most clients plan for 3 to 5 weeks of reduced kitchen access during peak disruption phases.
